Technical Support (Path of Exile 1) - Steam offline , no game ?! - Fórum

I love how non-steam users are actually more butthurt about many players merging accounts then the steam users, who can't now log-in are about the game non possible to launch because of steam hiccup / unannounced downtime. Seriously, and what if someone is using Xfire or Raptr to launch their games? If you can't add nothing to the topic go and enjoy your unlinked accounts. Good bye sir! And for the record: because of merging accounts your executable is now called "PathOfExileSteam.exe" and it needs establishing connection via steam platform to run. I have the same issue. I have been stupid and lazy and used the Steam client, now I cant play. Is it possible to play with that account in a non-Steam client? And if so, how? If you have a Steam-Only account, then you cannot use the standard web client to log in as it requires an email and a password, and Steam-Only accounts don't have user passwords. Edit: You can also do what I previously suggested and get your account linked to a Classic account, then you can play via either method and don't have to worry about steam being down. There'e a difference between "merging accounts" and "creating an account via steam". Personally, I played POE before it was even available on steam so my point of vision on the topic is also biased. Ok so if my account is on steam, can i login to that account through the poe launcher or no? I'm assuming not.. which sucks. If your account is on Steam then you CANNOT log into the normal PoE launcher unless you've had your account converted to a Classic account linked to Steam as I said before.
