A cornerstone of ARPGs is replay value

agreed this game takes too long to find anything useful, some of us want to go outside smell the air and work, not spend sooo many hours finding anything useful, Median XL Ultimative for me bye bye PoE.

" 1) The Cow Level wasn't intended by Blizzard to be the end game area, and look how long it took them to change it. 2) Uber runs weren't part of the equation until D2 had been out for several years. 3)the fast Baal runs that most players remember and look back fondly on, were largely the result of massive botting, game breaking runewords, and a massively overpowered hammerdin build. Before the Hammerdins and Enigma, there were Orb Sorceresses and rune word duping since the runes could be cubed up or thrown into runeword items and "permed" " Path of Exile could achieve the same thing if they allowed duping mechanisms in the game. If you start seeing players trading "Permed" exalts, than you will find all sorts of readily available cheap trading. Need a 6 link armor with 100+life, 3 high resists and 2000+ to armor or evasion? No problem, just whip out Ye Olde duped Mirror of Khanduras - oops, Kalandra- and you can probably get the best armor in the game for two GCPs. " Given that the game was released in June 2000, and 1.10 rune words weren't added until October 2003, it would take over 3 years to get the Enigma alone. If you meant actual playing time to FIND the items you meant above, than I would say for most players it would take a lot longer than FINDING a Bringer of Rain. The Herald of Zakarum shield was about as rare a drop as Bringer of Rain is. (I've seen about six of them drop so far, though none were allocated to me in those games) the Harlequin Crest "Shako" wasn't hard to find, once you had enough magic find and were willing to kill Andariel about 50 times. The Ko, Pul and Thul for Heart of the Oak are easy enough, but until patches 1.13a and 1.13b (March 2010+) finding a Vex took a lot of playing time. Jah and Ber were far more common after patch 1.13a. Pre 1.13 patch, even if you played often, even seeing a single Jah drop was a jaw dropping experience. 1.13 made drop rates for Jah and Ber almost Twelve times as common (11.9x) If runes weren't being duped like free money, and magic finding Hammerdin bots weren't as common as crack whores on payday, players' memory of what D2 was like would be vastly different. Hex charms and White Gloves ring a bell? Town Kill PK'ing even 10 years later? " What GGG does NOT have, is the number of areas that D2 had, especially after the expansion and later patches. When Path of Exile has 5 acts and three or more end game activities (cow level, Uber Diablo, Pandemonium) than we can compare the two games and their long term replay value. The best way for players to get more content is to make sure they actually support GGG in some manner. If you want an opening salvo comparison - compare Poe to the original Lost Vikings.
