Not seeing many Templars these days :(.
Yeah not seeing Templars... If you are not playing as a Templar please list here why. Think it's time to make a Templar :).

I would like to play templar with discharge but I have 89 duelist and leveling in this game is boring it is same content for 100x time
I'm here from closed beta and I did level many characters not because it was fun but because I had to atm 89 duelist and 80 marauder are my highest levels I do not touch marauder because i did misstake with his tree What i would like is changing Character X with level Y For Character X with same level Y For example you have 80level marauder you pay 50 regrets for recipe to some book and use it to become witch/templar anything with reseted tree I would like to try characters but grind to 80+ again? Nope This game have very slow combat until you have full gear and after that it is still slow /for example D3 movement speed + no desync together make that 'fast'feel 2. idea: Let ppl with higher character skip quests or let them keep waipoints I really don't see reason in killing all monsters in fetid pool for 1000000 time It was ok to do once but always?PPL then pay 3 chaos to higher level characters to rush them and skip it anyway I don't see reason for it. I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty, and witty and gay, And I pity Any girl who isn’t me today! |

I have a Templar at level 66 but I don't see too many around at higher levels.
I made him to try a sporker but the limits on skills with Ancestral have made it easy to put off taking. So right now doing Arc, Totem, and a few minions. Oh wait I did see another templar recently, putting out a lot of hurt with tri-totem Arc and one other skill, it was impressive. Última edição por raziekeljr#3483 em 14 de jan. de 2014 11:06:10

A thread by Solwitch? Not sure if serious, but I'll give it my opinion.
The Templar starting area is not optimal for many builds. Want to go CI caster? Start off with Scion and get those spell damage nodes right at the beginning. Or take those attack speed nodes for meele CI! Scion also gets easy access to crit if you go the CI way. Want HP and phys damage? Marauder has a good start with both. Want life and evasion and attack speed? Ranger has them readily available. Minion nodes? Witch starts close to one that you will want to visit, anyway. Duelist has some dual wield nodes and weapon range, which makes his start location special, plus they are buffed higher than most other beginning nodes. Shadow doesn't have a start I'd prefer. Normally would go Scion over him because Scion gets easy access to almost every crit node except the shadow beginning nodes. Templar has the same issue with Marauder, except he does have his own niche elemental damage nodes and mana regeneration. The latter turned less useful with 1.0 patch as Scion got her own and now there's a lot more mana regen on the skill tree. I can go Marauder or Ranger and still eventually get most of the ele dmg nodes Templar would get. Última edição por Mortal321#7625 em 14 de jan. de 2014 11:20:56

The reason nobody plays Templar and also why he is mostly absent from the ladders is simple,
it`s his blatant religiousness and ramblings about "god". Any character who makes statements like that simply will be the least popular. Yes its subtle, and yes it means nothing in relation to the player, yes yes yes all the other characters are silly in their own way, but this idea of "god" beats everything else, its its own genre that separates the Templar from the others. He comes off as being completely obnoxious. If the Templar was ambiguously spiritual, or subscribed to a more fictitious and mythological religion like the Monk in D3, I think even that would have made people play him more. I like the Templar because of his location on the skill tree and for his animations and 3d model. His voice and everything about the character turn me off completely. That being said, the Templar is my main character, lvl 81 and only have one more character at 76. I'm really enjoying it and will roll him again in the next league. Two reasons above all else:
1) I typically prefer to play female characters. 2) Unless the build I have planned specifically benefits from AoE nodes, Templar is a sub-optimal start location; and even if the build does, depending on the weapons and what-not that I'll be using, Templar is still often sub-optimal.
