Fellow HDD players: I thinke we're being saved

You have to remember that prices are not global and as for other parts, i was just mentioning that there is an overall pc parts shortage and not just SSDs due lockdown of China and other Asian producers.

That may be, but currently, they are throwing RAM and SSD's after you, and that is pretty global. There's a shortage for PSU's, but RAM and SSD's are cheaper than ever. $40 for a 250GB SSD and 16BG of 3200hz++ RAM for under $100? Though, I understand that everyone isn't in a position to buy.

But the time is nigh. The computer industry is (and should be) moving away from HDD's, and the technology has taken huge steps these last few years. It's only natural that games (like PoE) are moving in the same direction. Like Nvidias new GPU's: You need fast storage to utilize them 'correctly'.

Sooner or later, all people with gaming as a hobby, need to take the "SSD step".
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
do yourself a favour and buy one :D

Guess i live on the exception then, all the stores around here are out of both decent Ram and SSds after the lock downs were ensued, specially NVMe ones.
Order online...
Always the "buy SSD lol" train... Ignore the trolls.

If GGG doesn't explicity says you need an SSD to play, they must make their game playable in HDD.

I doubt there's a single developer or tester that play in the minimum requirements before each release...

There is an 70% of the item price tax for shipping electronics, so basically you would buy 1 and pay almost for 2...

Got to love my government...

Why?
Because that reaches a wider audience of users that would otherwise not be able to play. Same reason why they are making a Mac version of the game, console versions of the game, and putting the game on EGS; they're not doing it for you, they are reaching out to people that would otherwise not try the game.

SSD's are dirt cheap.

Load times are instant.

Have fun with those long load times though.
