There's a shortage for PSU's, but RAM and SSD's are cheaper than ever. $40 for a 250GB SSD and 16BG of 3200hz++ RAM for under $100? Though, I understand that everyone isn't in a position to buy. But the time is nigh. The computer industry is (and should be) moving away from HDD's, and the technology has taken huge steps these last few years. It's only natural that games (like PoE) are moving in the same direction. Like Nvidias new GPU's: You need fast storage to utilize them 'correctly'. Sooner or later, all people with gaming as a hobby, need to take the "SSD step". Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

If GGG doesn't explicity says you need an SSD to play, they must make their game playable in HDD. I doubt there's a single developer or tester that play in the minimum requirements before each release... "There's no thing like random one-shots in this game. You only die because you take 353,456,237 hits in 0.2 seconds."

Same reason why they are making a Mac version of the game, console versions of the game, and putting the game on EGS; they're not doing it for you, they are reaching out to people that would otherwise not try the game. |
