Removing "Filter White Items"

I would prefer some more advanced filtering. Maybe not for all conceivable way. But some help to filter of all those really to low level(compared to area level) crappy slotted whites with no quality would be enough.

I wouldn't miss the filterfunction but for new players it might actually be a good way to hold off that information overload phase. There are already enough stuff for new players to try to learn and keep track of. What armour is for which class and so on. What the more experienced players already knows and can handle that in a heartbeat.

I really wish me that option back. Why cant you give me the decision to turn it on in options? Now after my client broke some months later of this decision I must play that game with that crappy alltime white spam? Its my problem if I dont see the good white drops, if i activated that option. And now after many months playing it in my lovely option I must suffer all that damn white text or nothing.
With that option I pressed "Alt" from time to time and I had never missed a quality or high socket item. And if i pressed not "Alt" i saw magic/rare/unique/orbs without any problem.

I gotta agree that this should come back regardless of the usefulness of white items. In party maps with high item quantity, your entire screen can get completely covered in items.
The only issue i have with this is that all those items dropping in maps, sometimes prohibit us to see the mobs from under the piles of stuff..
I would like to propose some alpha transparency on the boxes of the item names, just so you can see what's underneath.

crisis solved.
I'd rather have it separated into an 'advanced settings' area, where there are tooltips to explain what it does exactly.

I agree with that guy on the first page, why remove a feature which some people might be using. Just hide it away and turn it off so new players aren't inclined to just turn it on.

Else I agree, remove it, it's bad.
You can still use the filter, enable it in the production_config.ini (should be in documents\my games\path of exile). Just set filter_white_items= to true.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
I would definitely like the option for this to be turned back on. For me, it is overall a lot more convenient to always have magic/rares/uniques/maps on and then when I want to check the ground for important whites to press alt, rather than have all or nothing. There are so many items sometimes it makes it even harder to pick out important currency items or maps. Also the sheer number of items often bury mobs, and I am constantly accidentally picking up shitty items I don't want. I know I can set it to alt pickup but I'd rather not. Please give us this option back.

Id recommend making the filter more robust instead of removing it. I never use it atm, but i would if i could choose which items to hide.

Filters id like to see:
item type
item level
socket count
quality value
implicit value

No. Just no. You're meant to look on the ground for drops. If you take it that far, why even have "crappy" drops in the first place?

In high quantity maps or with 4+ players the white clutter is very annoying to the point people are dying because they cannot see through it. Why not just highlight valuables including the 4 to 6 link whites and top tier whites and let the filter whites button filter out the rest, pressing alt every now and then to find that tri coloured socket item for a chromatic orb isn't a big deal
